If the perimeter drainage system is needed to be pumped then you will required 2 sumps, a lower sump that will have a pumped and a higher sump ( referring to the base of the sump ) that will still go by gravity ( this will be for your roof water ). Its always best to discharge by gravity as pumps are mechanical and prone to failure ( no one wants a flooded basement ). With the pumps there are 2 systems depending on budget and risk adversity.<\/p>\n<p>The first is a simple pump with 1 float that turns the pump off and on, this will usually also have a 2nd float that will act as a high water alarm and that alarm will either be inside the home or nearby the sump. The 2nd system is far superior and more expensive, this has 2 pumps that are controlled by a panel that is usually located inside the mechanical room of the home and will osicalate \u00a0between the 2 pumps and if either pump fails will still function however will sound an alarm that servicing is necessary.<\/p>\n<p>This system is controlled by 3 floats an on float, off float, and high level float. It&#8217;s important to note that unless there is battery backup ( which can be installed on either system ) neither of these systems will function in the event of a power failure.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><div  class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion_builder_column_1_3 fusion-builder-column-2 fusion-one-third fusion-column-last 1_3\"  style='margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:20px;width:33.33%;width:calc(33.33% -
